Brain Like A Jellyfish

I have just been attempting to write a post inspired by the following aphorism.

“Madness is the exception in individuals; the rule in groups.”

On the whole, I think Nietzsche had a point. Yet, the more you think about it, the more you need to know how madness is being defined. Is he just talking about rationalism? In which case, groups are never rational, or is he talking about full-blown psychopathic behaviour?

But the point is this, I have a lot to say but I cannot get my thoughts in order. The words come, they float, the paragraphs wend on and on, and yet my thoughts swirl out and around like a jellyfish”s tentacles in the depths of the ocean. My mind seems to be expanding outwards and dissolving around the edges.

I realise now, an hour or so later, that trying to wrestle with a philosopher is a waste of time while Mercury, the planet of mind, is stationing in the sign of feelings, Cancer. There’s no point in being orderly and logical. I shall come back to Nietzsche when the time is right. Mercury is direct now, of course, but floating so slowly, still sucking sweet sensuality out of every memory.
