The Paedophile Scandal in Westminster
A massive, long-buried scandal is erupting in Britain. For decades, a network of paedophiles that included members of parliament, ministers and top civil servants operated in London, and across the UK — allegedly. Children, mainly boys, were taken from children’s homes and passed around like “pieces of meat”* — allegedly.
Allegedly, previous attempts to bring abusers to justice, going as far back as the 1970s, were stifled by Special Branch, the secret police in charge of, among other things, protecting VIPs.
Yesterday, Home Secretary Theresa May launched two inquiries into the situation. At least 20 members of parliament are rumoured to be directly involved, and many more of the great and the good must have known about MP Cyril Smith, Jimmy Savile and Margaret Thatcher’s private secretary Peter Morrison, the latter is also an unsubstantiated allegation.
Rumours of a sex ring involving some of the most powerful people in Britain, including members of the government, have floated around for years. According to the Daily Telegraph, “At one point during the 1980s, the scandal threatened to engulf the Home Office but newspapers were warned off pursuing unsubstantiated rumours.” The Waterhouse Enquiry (1996-2000) into child abuse in North Wales also — allegedly — came perilously close to revealing MI5 involvement.

What we are looking at here is the action of Saturn through Scorpio. Last time Saturn transited through Scorpio was in the mid-1980s. This was when much of the abuse was said to have taken place. What is more, it’s when the first cover up happened. MP Geoffrey Dickens presented his dossier about a pedophile ring in Westminster to then Home Secretary Leon Brittan in 1985. That dossier was subsequently “lost”.
At the same time, the mid-1980s were the time when the subject of child abuse started to get a proper public airing. Children who had been abused in the 1970s and earlier began to come forward, even though their stories often fell on deaf ears. In 1986, Childline, the telephone service for children in trouble, was set up.

During this current transit of Saturn through Scorpio, old child abuse scandals have dominated the headlines in this country. The unmasking of Jimmy Savile in 2012 has led to numerous further arrests, and most recently the conviction of octogenarian entertainer Rolf Harris. These Westminster allegations were first aired in Parliament by MP Tom Watson in 2012.
In those two short years, the attitude of the police and the public in general has shifted dramatically from disbelief to reluctant acceptance. Previously, survivors did not come forward before because they knew they would be dismissed, disbelieved and possibly punished. That is no longer the case — or at least less so.
- Saturn is the planet of punishment and boundaries. Saturn makes sure that you reap what you sow. Since this planet works in long cycles, some people will now be reaping what they sowed back in the mid-1980s.
- Scorpio is, of course, a sign that rules both secrets and sex, conspiracies, cover-ups and deviance.
The other important astrological action right now is, of course, the Uranus-Pluto square and the upcoming Full Moon which creates a Cardinal Cross with that square. This Full Moon in Capricorn shines a light right into the heart of the British establishment. Look at how it falls on the UK chart, pulling in the country’s own natal Full Moon and nodal axis. 
The last time Uranus and Pluto were in such a powerful aspect was during the 1960s. Pluto (the planet of transformation and sex) and Uranus (the planet of revolution) conjuncted in Virgo, a sign that rules hygiene, medicine and virginity. Abortion and homosexuality were both legalised in Britain in 1967, and the same year the Pill became available to unmarried women.
This was just after the exact conjunction, and its opposition to Saturn in Pisces. Uranus and Pluto aimed at Saturn and blew away those old rules. When Saturn is in Pisces, boundaries dissolve and become fuzzy. Taboos are broken.
Abortion, the Pill and homosexuality: these are all question about the sovereignty of the body. For Virgo, the body is a temple. What you do with your own temple should be up to you. It’s about freedom, a Uranian concept. The destruction of some taboos was necessary, but the consequences of that upheaval were far-reaching and unpredictable.
For a start, birth control did liberate women from the treadmill of pregnancy and the fear of having an illegitimate baby, but it also opened a new gateway for women and girls to be exploited. A weird result of the liberalisation of sexual codes in the 1960s was the emergence of the Paedophile Information Exchange (PIE), a lobby group that operated throughout the 1970s and into the 1980s, whose aim was to lower the age of consent to four – yes four. Another, perhaps more predictable result was the increased pornographising of everyday life that’s taken place of ver the last 40 odd years.
Some things have improved a lot since the 1960s. Being gay is no longer seen as deviant although it’s still tough to come out; women have control over their fertility; children are treated with a great deal more respect now than they were then. Sometimes they’re even listened to. But that has taken a long time; time for those people who were children in the 1960s, who experienced what it was like to grow up in a moral vacuum to have their own children and start to wonder about remaking some rules.
It has taken all that time for Uranus and Pluto to move into a square aspect.
That 1960s Uranus-Pluto conjunction was in the sign of the body as temple. Today, Uranus is in the sign of the individual, and Pluto is in the sign of the establishment. We are all too well aware that these two are at loggerheads, stamping around the planet like a pair of destructive toddlers. But this clash is also destroying some things that have to go. Unexpectedly, Norman Tebbit, chairman of the Conservative Party in the 1980s, explained it well this week.

Well, Pluto in Capricorn (the system) demands the expulsion of that which no longer works. Uranus in Aries demands personal freedom. The system must change so that our personal freedoms are better protected. Part of that protection is to do with balancing the power of the individual against the power of the establishment. It’s also about the integrity of our own space, quite literally our own bodies, but also the privacy of homes and our information. This is for another post perhaps but the question of personal privacy is one that Uranus in Aries vs Pluto in Capricorn insists that we address.
Here is what Lord Tebbit, whose Spitting Image puppet wore one of Pluto’s favourite outfits – leather jacket, skinhead and bovver boots – has to say about an inquiry…
“Such an extensive review is bound to trash many reputations, and to further lower the public’s regard for the calling that I have followed for well over 40 years. But only a thorough purge of those who have brought the democratic system into disrepute can clear the way to rebuild anew on sounder foundations, as was done in the 19th century. Nothing less will enable us to deal with the threats, and challenges, of the 21st century.”
It remains to be seen whether we discover the full truth behind the involvement of Special Branch and MI5. In 1987, the book Spycatcher, written by ex-MI5 operative Peter Wright, was published in Australia (it was banned here). This is what he recalls being told about MI5’s legal status by John Cuckney when he was recruited back in the 1950s:
“It hasn’t got one. The Security Service cannot have the normal status of a Whitehall department because its work very often involves transgressing propriety or the law.” Cuckney went on to explain that MI5 operated on the basis of the 11th commandment: “Thou shalt not get caught”.”

They’ve put Baroness Butler-Sloss in charge of the inquiry though, & although she’s probably a good person and certainly well qualified, the fact is she’s the sister of the guy who was Attorney-General in the 1980s. No one is suggesting that he was a paedophile but he was part of the establishment that did the cover up.
There was an excellent article in yesterday’s Independent about the moral climate in the 1980s which equated extra-marital affairs with being gay with child molesting. Thank God we’re unpicking that one.
Yes.. but brilliant article in the guardian yesterday about that article – basically saying that this is a red herring, ‘O it was like that in the 70s, everyone was sexually active and in some sort of drug haze, and don’t young women wearing makeup to look 5 years older fling themselves at red blooded male celebs’. No. There was deliberate grooming to sexually abuse and humiliate (easy to do with children) . There’s something going on with some of those in power and authority, a sense of entitlement to do whatever they choose to vulnerable people, and hopefully, hopefully, it will be properly exposed. It wasn’t saying what you’ve written at all! In fact it was talking about the mistaken moral equivalencies made in the 1980s between activities that were actually completely different — the example used was how Cecil Parkinson’s affaire with his secretary was equated at the time with “interfering with small boys”. Nothing about the 1970s, groupies, etcetera. I completely agree with you about grooming. Please don’t think I’d recommend some creepizoid apologist!
I am still looking for that article. It claimed that a Canadian Journalist in 1984 was about to expose the Westminster ring but was somehow muzzled.
