The Price of a Cup of Coffee
As those of you who are already subscribers will know, the monthly horoscopes here on The OA are in some ways the heart of the site — and I’d like to thank all of you who have remained such loyal readers over the last few years. You have helped support the whole website.
The horoscopes are a co-creation between me, the writer, and you, the reader. Each is about 1000 words long per sign, depending on the month ahead — and you blend the Rising sign and Sun sign as you read, interpreting the interpretations. The breadth of the material allows you to cut the horoscopes to your own pattern.
The price of the horoscopes has been static since they were launched. This happened for a number of reasons, including the fact that I wasn’t sure how to raise the price fairly in line with inflation. However, I have come up with a solution that seems reasonable. This is the Latte Index.
From now on, the horoscopes will be pegged to the price of a cup of coffee. One month’s horoscopes will be the same price as a tall latte at Starbucks in Summertown, Oxford. Currently that’s £2.40 a month (that’s $3 today).
This means the price will go up from July 1, and then once a year according to the Latte Index. The old price of £20 remains in place until then.
When you subscribe to this site, you receive.
- Access to the 1000-word essay on the month ahead for each sign. To read a sample, click here.
- The year ahead book with details of the movements of all the planets, including the asteroids — Juno, Vesta, Ceres and Pallas — and the eclipses.
- … and the occasional booklet on major configurations, such as the one recently published on the Dragon’s Head and Tail. Uranus in Taurus will likely be the next one of those.
Of course, you are also supporting the production of the rest of the free material on this site.
Access to the horoscopes, books and booklet are via the Horoscopes tab at the top of the page. You will receive notification via email when they are ready to read.
Subscriptions roll over automatically at the end of a year. Payment is normally via PayPal — but if you would like to use another method please send an email.
