Hansel and Gretel’s witch lured them with sugarplums and cake; then she imprisoned them to fatten them up so she could eat them. Many fairy tales carry warnings about the dangers of the world — sometimes outside the family home and sometimes within its walls. There are ogres and trolls out there, giants and monsters, wicked step-mothers and jealous sisters, tyrants and Rumpelstiltskin.
Sometimes we recognise these archetypal figures in the real world. Ghislaine Maxwell is a wicked witch who lured young girls into slavery and corruption.
Unfortunately, I don’t have her time of birth, so this is a sunrise chart. However, astrology works resoundingly on this one.
Maxwell was has the generational conjunction of Pluto and Uranus in Virgo in her chart, like most people born in the 1960s. This powerful conjunction became exact a few years later in those revolutionary years in the middle of that decade. But it is in Virgo, which is, among other things, a sign of service. This generation needs to serve — but who is the master?
Maxwell has Dark Moon Lilith right in between Uranus and Pluto. Lilith is moving between the two outer planets, binding them together.
You can, of course, use Lilith energy positively (we all have to figure out how to do this– see Toni Morrison), but you do find the Dark Moon strongly placed in the charts of serial killers and rapists.
Part of the legend of Lilith is that she killed or ate babies. She was the original Baba Yaga — living alone in the wilderness, kidnapping infants. In astrology, you also see her when there are questions of childlessness or child-loss.
Maxwell’s job, allegedly, was to procure under-age girls for billionaire Jeffrey Epstein, and corrupt them. I have to be careful of libel here, because her family is famously litigious. But you could say something like “she was in the service of the damned”.
She was born into extraordinary wealth — a real princess with Moon in Leo. Her Moon is opposed by Jupiter in Aquarius, the common people, her hunting ground.
She’s ambitious with all that Capricorn — but what do you do with ambition, lots of money, and no visible talent? (Well, I can think of something other than paedophilia. ed) Her Sun-Mars conjunction is aggressive and action-oriented. She would be a doer, enjoying a hands-on approach. Mars is just coming out of a conjunction with Venus in Sagittarius — which can be pretty interested in sex.
Saturn in Capricorn is in its own sign, so very strong. This is hard-working and ambitious, but can be cold and ruthless. Indeed, she must have zero empathy. Capricorn can be cold, and it’s not helped by the warmth of the Leo Moon, which can be selfish and drama seeking.
She’s in the middle of her second Saturn Return, of course. The conjunction won’t happen until next year, but since Saturn entered Capricorn in December 2017, you can bet she’s been reaping the whirlwind she’s been sowing for the last 30 years. Which brings me to an interesting point. Back in 1991, at her last Saturn Return, her father the thief/media tycoon Robert Maxwell was embroiled his final scandal. He was busy stealing £450m from the pension fund of his company. He killed himself (or accidentally drowned) just in time to avoid going to jail. But the scandal engulfed his remaining family including Ghislaine, who relocated to New York the following year.
Note also that she’s getting a lot of trine action from Uranus in Taurus right now. This ought to be nice for a lot of Capricorns, exciting and energising. But I think this is an example of a nasty trine — what she thought about herself and the security of her position in the world is turning out to be untrue.
I can’t say much more because of the libel laws in this country but have a look at the links. I think I can say, as a matter of opinion, what a nasty piece of work.
I have seen an Aries Rising chart for Ms Maxwell – no idea if just rectified to Noon though….
I think that’s a noon chart. Marjorie Orr often uses noon when she doesn’t have the time.
Interesting post Christina. As you know I am always keeping an eye on Ceres and I find her interesting on the topic of purity. Anders Brevik didn’t want foreigners in his country – nor did Hitler – they both have Sun Ceres connections as does Epstein- a trine in his case. Maxwell’s Sun is an exact inconjunct to Epstein stationary Ceres. Did she get the attention for bringing him pure girls? Her retro Ceres is also conjunct his Jupiter – in the myth Ceres can negotiate – did Maxwell do this for his entrepreneurial vision I wonder?
Yes. I agree with you, at the heart of this tale is a desire to corrupt purity. I note the Ceres Rx in her chart which creates an earthy Grand Trine — closely Pluto (crime), Mercury (youth), Ceres Rx (the false mother).
One can’t speculate too much about her own childhood, but there is also the idea of being above such things. Thank you for posting SOMETHING about this woman. So far the media in the US has been very hands off about her. It’s as if she’s untouchable. I think she should be fully exposed for who she really is and what she’s done.
The family are famously litigious. Her father sued people for libel if they so much as looked at him sideways.
Also, there is more to this story, I believe, than I can print here. The Russian expression “kompromat” may have something to do with this.
Let’s look at the early wounding which may underlie her behavior……because it is always there. Her Chiron/Uranus opposition would be a good place to start.
I think it helps us to understand an individual by looking at the wound underlying the behavior because there is always a wound. We might start at the Chiron in Pisces / Uranus in Virgo opposition.
Oh poor Lilith! Got such a poor reputation, and always blamed for everything. Especially when the person to be blamed is a woman. Well, that’s a part of being Lilith, i guess.
Now, seriously, I will defend the Lilith on this. No way Lilith would force other women / girls into submission, not for a man. This is so anti-lilithian. There must be more.

And the chart is emphasing 3 signs, which are the most “arogant”, in some cases even narcistic. Leo, Capricorn and Sagittarius, that is. All the personal planets are in these 3 signs.
Moon conj. the Node, this is the feeling of being special. The feeling of special destiny. Of being the chosen-one (or being the Second Coming of God, as some may tweet 😉 ). Of course, such moon-position can make people being successful and special. Many political leaders and people who think big, have this. But I also saw that aspect in the natal charts whenever I was asking the “why?”-question. I mean why (aside even the moral and the ethics) would someone do such an evil, irrational thing, without any obvious advantages?
Yeah, I know, Lilith can be irrational, but so can be Moon-Node conjunction. If you are the hero of the story, Odysseus, you can’t possible be wrong, and all means are allowed to fulfill the destiny (whatever it might be – look at the sun).
The Sun (which is also the ruler of the N.Node) is in Cap, of course, together with other personal planets – Mars and Mercury. The ruler of the Cap is in the Cap as well. This is a very saturnian combination, as you mentioned it.
And Saturn of course is about daddy. But that exalted Mars in Saturn is to close to the Sun – it’s to close in fact, it consumed it. This is all about the tradition, about the famliy tradition, about the power going from father to – son. Not to daughter. To son. Saturn (and if this chart is anything, then it is saturnian), is way to old-fashioned, to accept a female heir. Even if the father does, the daughter want. There will always be a flaw of having the wrong gender, the sun submitted to the most masculine of all the planets, the god of sex himself – the Mars.
This is therefor pretending to be a man, imagining what exactly one could do to the other woman / girls, if just not have been born with the “wrong” gender. Voyerism, looking at the young girls through a man’s eyes. Forcing young women and girls into submission to a man, as a reflection of own much hated girl-ishness. Feeling the power the abuser probably feels, identifing with him. Using his “masculinity” as a substitution for the lack of the own.
What an excellent analysis — spot on I think.
But I’ll stick with the Lilith — like all astrological elements, the can be good or bad — and as you know I’ve looked at a lot of charts. Take a look at her in the charts of serial killers or Trumps for example. See my piece on Toni Morrison for Lilith used beautifully and well. It’s how we use our charts that counts. Maxwell could have used all that Mars-Saturn energy to head an organisation that saved girls after all, rather than harming them.
Thank you for this chart and for your observations. In case you haven’t looked at Maxwell and Epstein together, her saturn is conjunct his sun. Epstein’s sun is at a degree which many astrologers have described as fatalistic and potentially disastrous, the 29th degree of any sign.

Have you noticed that Maxwell’s Saturn is conjunct Epstein’s sun at 29° capricorn? Oh my, oh my! Many astrology writers have mentioned that 29 degrees of any sign tends to be unusually fatalistic. You omit to mention the close conjunction of Venus Pluto in the 8th house. This conj has been linked to abduction, rape and even murder, strongly reminiscent of the old Persephone myth, captured and dragged into the underworld by the lord of Hades. I’ve seen this in action too many times. Nasty business.
This analysis is totally spot on. It shows- with Ghislaine as an example how all these falsely entitled people with power will eventually fall. I am sick in my stomach. Conjunction of Saturn and Pluto in 2020 can finally expose all of this.
Earlier conjunction of these malefics had put communism to an end.
Thank you Christina. Some of GM’s behaviour must surely be to do with excessive levels of control – the Capricorn and Leo elements particularly. She was, after all, Epstein’s former girlfriend. Was her alleged behaviour a deeply twisted way of hanging on to him, and his money? I wonder what kind of hold he had over her as well? Possibly one that went far beyond the sexual or emotional? From my own reading around, it seems this tale is a very dark one with many layers, locations, and much history pre-dating the relationship itself. We may never know the truth.
I also noticed that the fixed star, Zosma, is aligned with her Pluto. There are many fixed stars active in this chart, but this one seems particularly apt.

The Pluto Venus conjunction yes can lead to ‘nasty business’ however it can also be a very transformative aspect for the native. One who is more conscious and introspective that is. 8 th house yes that aspect can lean to nefarious activity. Else where and depending on aspect this conjunction as I say can be quite enlightening after all Persephone became erudite and mature from her interaction with Hades. Nothing is black or white as we know.

Ghaslain Maxwell was arrested, today, by the FBI (Federal Bureau of Investigation) on a number of indictable offenses, according to BBC.com online:
BBC writes: “British socialite Ghislaine Maxwell, an ex-girlfriend of convicted paedophile Jeffrey Epstein, has been charged in the US after being arrested by the FBI.
She is accused of assisting Epstein’s abuse of minors by helping to recruit and groom victims known to be underage.
After being arrested in New Hampshire, she was brought to court and remanded in custody, for transfer to New York.
Ms. Maxwell, 58, has previously denied any involvement in or knowledge of Epstein’s alleged sexual misconduct.
Epstein died in prison on 10 August as he awaited, without the chance of bail, his trial on sex trafficking charges.
As a non British person, observing from a distance, my take on the arrest of Ms. Maxwell is that she is one of the “pieces” of the arrogant British Aristocracy that will be taken down during the transit of Saturn conjunct Pluto in Capricorn. The entire British Monarchy and the Queen, including her son, Prince Andrew, (who is said to have indulged in underaged sex with with a recruit of Maxwell’s, Virginia Joeffre) is yet another piece of that pie ? The recent seperation of Harry and Meghan from the Royal Family is another fly in the ointment.
Basically, all of the British wealthy class have a shitkicking coming to them and there is more to come, I predict.
As the long awaited arrest of Maxwell took place, several key transits are percolating in her natal chart, albeit with an unknown birth time. Transiting Saturn moved into Capricorn today, almost conjoining her natal Saturn in Capricorn. Saturn returns are both important and influential and suggest a new way of life for Maxwell, as her life will be forever changed, just as Prince Andrew’s Saturn return earlier last year changed his life, as well, which forced him to retire from the Royal family and being put in the Royal doghouse, thanks to a tv interview that he did last year?
Transiting Mars in Aries is squaring her natal Sun in Capricorn, while transiting Uranus (surprising events) squares her natal Jupiter (legal affairs, the courts). Transiting Pluto in Capricorn will eventually conjoin her natal Saturn, perhaps a pivotal moment for her. What that transit means is that the curtain hiding the Wizard of Oz is ripped to shreds, forever ?
Re: Ms. Maxwell, we haven’t heard her side of the story, yet, and until we do, perhaps astrologers should wait, as there is always two sides to every story ? Im not defending Maxwell, at all, and she might well be an evil b*tch, but let’s find out what the courts have to say, first ? We know how liableous and judgemental the British media can be, but the courts must be free of bias and judgementalism. Except in the case of Julian Assange. Then, the British courts are as biased and prejudiced as can be !
Because Epstein commited suicide and avoided trial, last year, prosecuters are obviously anxious to convict Maxwell.
You know, American justice is also incredibly biased against those alleged foreign criminals that they happen to extradite and try in their American courts, from Juan Chapo Guzman, the drug dealer, to Julian Assange, the alleged computer hacker and stealer of secrets, to Meng Wouzghou, the Weiwei cell phone executive.
All of those people stand little chance of a fair trial, if extradited to the USA and forced to attend trial there. MJaxwell and Meng Wougzhou stand a better chance of fighting her charges than the rest, because they have ties to North America and all of their lawyers live there, too.
Therefore, although you already think Ms Maxwell is a convicted criminal, everyone has the right to a fair trial and the presumption of innocence before a trial even begins.
