Astrology of Now: What Are You Ending?

Are you ready to put down a burden?

Endings are often excellent. An end to smallpox, an end to abuse, an end to exploitation. And what about happy endings? Weddings come at the end of a romance; birth comes at the end of a pregnancy; a victory that comes at the end of a war, a judgment at the end of a trial.

We are in an end game now. Indeed, somewhere in your own chart, things are coming to an end, or they have quite recently ended. Today in the news, the US government made a move that could kill the World Trade Organisation, Trump’s impeachment process went a stage further, Russia was finally banned from international sports events — and Finland elected the youngest prime minister in the world, Sanna Marin, 34, who will head an all-female-led coalition — the end of male-dominated politics, or maybe just the beginning of the end?

The cosmic clock has been ticking through some endings this year. The tick-tock gets louder as we get closer the epochal conjunction between Saturn and Pluto on January 12, 2020. Saturn and Pluto are both planets of ending, and have been working together for most of 2019, but this will be their one and only conjunction in the sign of structure, fathers, governments, the elderly, old institutions, ambition, worldly power.

Great or small, we’ll all be leaving something behind  — a habit, an ambition, a responsibility, a person, a house, a place, a job, our teeth, our indignation, our bitterness, a fear, a boss, a parent. This is especially so if you have any planets or points between 21° and 24°, and particularly if these are in Capricorn, Cancer, Libra or Aries.

If you haven’t done so yet, you might want to consider what you really need to drop now. It’s likely to be something fairly important,  so it’s not good getting rid of the kitty litter tray forever. It’s better if it’s something that will leave a hole. It’s a serious opportunity to let go of something that holds you back.

Top choices? A burden, a responsibility, a fear, a vendetta, a festering hatred, a duty…

And this is where that intriguing eclipse on Boxing Day comes in. There appears to be something coming into being around this eclipse, also in Capricorn, that has the potential to grow into something new and bounteous. It’s time to make some space for new growth.

A pull in two directions feels particularly strong with the nodes involved, and it makes it difficult to see clearly what exactly needs to go. I wonder if anyone has the same experience.
Part of me is taking some needed steps toward future career with NN transiting X house, but I just feel like staying home, taking care of the kids, bake for the holidays and finish up the renovation, all while struggling to keep my energy levels, inner motivation and focus…most days I just want to curl up in a ball, but just have to keep going and make slow progress…
