Thank you, Christina! That was very moving. It made me realize that in school in the US we were only taught of the Dark Ages as existing in medieval Europe and affecting Christians. But of course Native Americans have being going through the Dark Ages since 1492
I love the fact that you see and hear young Robert Davidson and old Robert Davidson, that he speaks of his grandmother born in 1895, that some of the footage is from 1969 and some from 2019, so the timespan is wide, yet connected.
Liked it, nice.
Convinced me to dig out, and put on display, the small totem pole that nine-year-old me made at middle school. I brought it home from my mum’s last year and it was sat in a bag waiting to be sorted, quite even probably to be thrown away. Don’t think it has quite as much spirit as Robert Davidson’s but when I look at it now, I appreciate it was more creative than I ever realised before.
Now that is very satisfying to hear!
