As the war in Ukraine rages, it’s hard to think of anything else. I was so pleased when two of the smartest astrologers I know, Victor Olliver and Lynn Bell, agreed to come discuss the situation yesterday. You can watch this on YouTube or listen. Victor Olliver is the editor of the Astrological Journal — and has just published his first book on astrology, and is already working on his second.
Lynn Bell is one of the most sought-after speakers on the astrological circuit today — a genuine astrological doyenne with a mind the size of a planet.

One of you commented that “you can’t make this astrology up.” Indeed. It has seemed to me that the past few years the universe has been hitting us over the head with these obvious configurations to say “Pay attention – this is important!” Two major conjunctions followed by the inner planets passing over the conjunction points in a relatively short period of time, with a repeat Mars/Venus on the Jupiter/Saturn conjunction degree – definitely a “pay attention” moment.
I liked Victor Olliver’s concept of “zombie charts”. The idea that energetic configurations repeat and resonate with similar energies through time makes sense to me. Though different, it seems related to the concept of “sensitive points” where major aspects like the Saturn/Pluto and Jupiter/Saturn conjunctions occurred, and other planets then “ping” the energy of those conjunctions, as you put it.
On a personal note, this discussion made real for me the idea that time is not linear. A big thanks for that!
… and thank you for this response. It’s heartening to hear that it helps. We had quite a long chat afterwards, and agreed that we all felt much better after having a discussion with fellow astrologers.
Supposedly, Mark Twain said. History doesn’t repeat itself; it rhymes. Did he say it in 1835? Might it be related to Neptune opposite Neptune cycle. Because I have repeatedly heard the quote lately with commentators in news broadcasts.
Another astrologer pointed out that Biden and Putin both have four planets including the Sun in the 12th house (secrets and hidden from view). It is a rarity especially when two world leaders share that similarity. The zombie podcast left me with the impression that it’s astrology approved hatred against Putin.
