Was Sherlock Holmes A Capricorn? Astrology Talk Investigate
Tuesday May 9th 2023
In honour of Pluto, the detective, entering Aquarius, the sign of networks and the internet (and maybe podcasts!), Sally and I are launching a new feature: Astrology Talk Investigates.
We’ll be looking at mysteries, histories and more, focusing on just one question, every month. Do send in your questions.
We decided to launch with an investigation to that most famous investigator Sherlock Holmes himself. Is he really a Capricorn?
I’m looking forward to this! (Capricorn sun in 8th house here with Capricorn mercury in 8th house trine Virgo Pluto- also I have my ruling planet Venus in 9th house Aquarius) Love a mystery, I know this is going to be brilliant ladies, I can’t wait.
Thanks for the encouragement!
I wouldn’t be surprised if Sherlock Holmes was a Capricorn with something in Scorpio, maybe a Rising Sign?! I am a double Capricorn with my Moon and Venus in Aquarius, and a Homeopath by Profession which is a bit like being a Detective!!!
… and a love of systems of knowledge. That’s the Aquarian.
I’ve always thought that Conan Doyle’s chart works well for Holmes. Very airy, suggesting Holmes’ cerebral nature, Sun conjunct Uranus, the eccentricity.
I absolutely agree.
Maybe a Virgo with strong Capricorn tendencies! Perhaps a Scorpio moon!
Surely some Scorpio. Also his near death and rebirth is pure Scorpio
I don’t necessarily see him as a Capricorn, although he could be. He was shrewd, as Capricorn can be, with a Mercurial ability to observe details and link them together. He liked working with a partner and weighing all possibilities, so that brings in Libran qualities. He could think like a criminal, which could be a combination of Mercury, Jupiter and the 8th or 12th houses. And he had the Scorpionic fascination with crime and it’s motivations.
Very good points, and hadn’t really considered your one about liking to work with a partner (of course!!) — could also be Gemini & I think reflected in Conan Doyle’s chart
