The Dark Goddess in Aries, 2020
Saturday February 22nd 2020
The Dark Goddess will be in the warlike sign of Aries for much of 2020, where she’s likely to find herself engaged in quite a few battles.

What do you think about her being close to Chiron for the next couple of months?
Yes, and the New Moon in Aries on March 24 is conjunct those two also. Both these two are mavericks. They are non-conformist outsiders, on the edge. But Chiron weaves the big stories in and makes them personal.
There are several directions this could go. I am linking this to coronavirus and I’m expecting it to spread in the sense that this is a wild virus (Lilith) that will come through the cracks (Chiron). I am also worried for women in war zones but it’s always thus I suppose, and for prominent female activists.
But on a different note entirely — and this is why astrology is so tricky to explain when you start to go deep and wide — there is the potential for some kind of healing around feminine wounding — femicide, FGM, rape. Or at least a bigger discussion. I notice the word femicide is being used much more frequently in the past month in the general media.
Those are some initial thoughts. I can’t pretend it’s a comfortable combination of energies.
Thanks for the response Christina. Yes, not a comfortable combo. It has a take charge and ‘ ‘go for it, head on’ kind of vibe. I do hope for healing in all realms it touches. Healing and joyful integration of that feminine archetype is long overdue
Personally, it’s happening on my 7H close to my vertex. So I don’t feel I can have much control over it.
This post aroused my curiosity. August 26 will mark the 100th anniversary of the adoption of the 19th U.S. constitutional amendment, which granted women the right to vote. In August 1920, Lilith was in the early degrees of Capricorn, and a month later was square Chiron in Aries and opposed to Pluto in Cancer.
That t-square at the end of September likely coincided with the deliberation of a Supreme Court case in which the state of Maryland attempted to deny 2 women the right to vote because Maryland’s state constitution denied women voting rights. The court decided in favor of the women a couple weeks later, on October 12.
Lilith will be square Pluto most of August this year. Here’s hoping some good will come of it.
Thanks for this. Very interesting.
Is that Krishna, Shiva – Parvati and Hanuman behind you? 🙂
Yes.
Curiously, Aries is in my 12th house, the outcast among outcasts who have to start things blindly (because Aries in the 12th feels like pushing through fog.) It’s also where a large tranche of my planets are.
I’ve been feeling the Covid-19 outbreak personally (though it has hardly changed my life except to make it easier, as I’m largely housebound anyway.) Hard to explain, but it intensifies my (12th house native’s) sense of being a lens that certain aspects of human experience radiate through. I can’t describe it further without sounding like I’m taking too much on, and it’s not like that. It’s not about me, it’s about the world, and I’m coincidentally positioned (shifting metaphors here) to receive and transmit that signal.
This global crisis feels like my problem. Not my responsibility and not my job, but like a personal undertaking somehow.
Coming back to the lens image, though still in a sensorially mixed metaphor: it feels like a magnifier, one point of clarifying-yet-distorting light moving through, piercing the fog in extraordinary ways, providing one clear spot where things can be seen vividly for a change.
Weirdly, the distortions that appear through that lens seem to be more than Neptunian light-bending; they become real once seen.
As a metaphor, this works out rather well. For one thing, a consequence of this has been to clear the air, literally! Air pollution hasn’t been this low in decades. Also, the structural weaknesses in our systems are being illuminated, and the way they play out is distorting indeed.
