About...
Hello, I’m Christina Rodenbeck, and I created The Oxford Astrologer in 2010, because I’m a writer as well as an astrologer — and I think words are even better married to beautiful images.
I started casting charts in the 1990s, and since then my techniques, understanding and knowledge have evolved. I specialise in personal readings, because I find people completely fascinating, and helping others seems to me the best use of astrology. But I’m also deeply engaged by how astrology works in the wider world — politics, history, celebrity and the general zeitgeist.
It’s a huge privilege and delight to work with a system of knowledge that is actually magical. Astrology is a gift that shows us a glimmer of the web that binds together the living universe. It’s awesome in the true sense of the word, and yet sometimes so amazing that it makes me laugh out loud with wonder. Read about how I became an astrologer.
I don’t cleave to any particular school of astrology: all have something to offer. I test techniques and see if they work in practice, and I am fond of examining historical cycles for patterns and information. Ethics are at the centre of my approach.

Writing & Consultancy
Lilith Untamed, published by the award-winning team at The Wessex Astrologer, came out to super reviews in 2026.
Other books: Busy Person’s Guide to Crystals, Meditation to Go, Madonna In My Pocket, Buddha in My Pocket, My Inner Pilgrimage.
I contribute occasionally to other publications including New York magazine and The Astrological Journal. I was the latter’s regular fashion columnist for several years.
I’ve worked as a mind-body-spirit publishing consultant and editor for books and partworks — including for Time Life books, Ryland Peters and Small, Titan Books, Marshall Cavendish, Reader’s Digest and more.
Under my nom de plume, Christopher March, I have written short stories and devised tarot decks for Titan Books: The HP Lovecraft deck and The Rocky Horror Show deck.
Broadcasting
For eight years, with my friend Sally Kirkman, I hosted Astrology Talk a popular monthly podcast in which we discussed the month ahead, the month behind and everything in between. We recently decided to stop the pod to make space for other projects, but you can still listen to some evergreen material via the link.
I also had a regular spot for several years on BBC Oxford, and have been a guest on various other podcasts, including at The Spectator magazine, Mainly Moonology with Yasmin Boland, and Lifeastrologer with Ana Isabel .
Talks and Teaching
I give lectures regularly for The Oxford Astrology Group, The Astrological Lodge in London, the Scottish Astrological Associationand Aquarius Severn.
This year I’ll be at Brighton and Hove Astrology Group, and later at Aquarius Severne and the Lodge.
I have taught courses on goddess asteroids and beginning astrology at the Nodoor School of Astrology in Peking, China, and contributed to various symposia.
Residencies
I do the occasional residency. For example, I spent a week as Wellness Master at the Four Seasons Hotel in Hong Kong.
