Talking Impressionism

Monday September 10th 2012
La Loge, Renoir.

It’s April 1874 and Paris is laughing. A group of painters has had the audacity to exhibit their work outside the Salon – and it’s absolute rubbish: smeary, blurry, amateurish, trash.

But by 1890, everything has changed. The reviled “Impressionists” have become rather influential, and people pay good money just to own pictures like this one.

I’m giving a talk on The Astrology of Impressionism on September 20
at Aquarius Severn

I’ll be taking a look at the natal charts of the key painters and the (extremely interesting) transits of the pivotal years. I’ll investigate the astrology of the group and the spirit of the times. There are some interesting parallels with today.

Do come along if you can.
