Astrology of Now: Beauty in the Mirror

Friday July 26th 2013
Venus at her Mirror, Velazquez.

Today and this week, the planet of beauty, art and peace, Venus, looks into a mirror that magnifies her image: that is Neptune her big blue brother swirling through the outer solar system.

Venus is activating the water grand trine that connects Saturn (making manifest) in Scorpio (deep emotions), Neptune in Pisces (limitless imagination) with Jupiter in Cancer (images and memory). You can see in the chart that she turns the trine into a kite. As an inner planet, she is much more active and likely to bring action.

What does this mean? If you are an artist, get to work. If you are a lover, make love. If you are a lover of art or music or beauty, immerse yourself now. You will create memories that may nourish you for a lifetime, or even an artefact that will give you pleasure for years to come. Pay attention to the skill, the detail and the big vision.

Mars’ opposition to Pluto and square to Uranus adds a fatal dynamism to the action now, at cross-purposes to this beautiful energy. And yet, there is Venus again, acting as peacemaker. There is another way for warring parties to come to terms – and that is the way of peaceful negotiation, attention to detail (Virgo) and compassion (Neptune in Pisces).

Anxious to read your interpretation of Monday/Tuesday Star of David.

Interesting Christina, I have had some major movements today on starting up a joint business in family therapy and allied health. As a double Cancerian (asc, sun in cancer in 12th) let’s hope that Jupiter is bringing on the bountiful energy. Hopefully the grand trine is also kicking off my natal grand water trine Saturn/Chiron/Mc in Pisces, Scorp in Neptune, Sun Cancer, although it’s not close enough for conjunctions. Bring on the love and light with the Virgoans, especially for the cranky one that sits to the left of me in the office and can wilt a pot plant at 9 yards.

Venus’s fine eye for proportion and perspective would explain a few things. Suddenly I’ve made real progress in figuring out — in a day-to-day, practical way — how to handle this damn disease and still have time in the day for something besides managing. I used more post-its and sharpies in the last 24 hours than I have in years. One wall of my living room is an orderly mess, if you know what I mean. It meant I had to move a table to get to it, but the whole room looks better now. Something’s working. Finally, I’m not completely, utterly stuck — stuck as if buried in rock. It’s as if it’s starting to melt away on one side, and I can feel a bit of a breeze on my cheek and my limbs are beginning to move.
