If you didn’t believe in the power of astrological symbols before, you should now. The chart I use for the Republic of Turkey is set for the declaration of the Turkish Republic in 1923, absurdly recent for a country with such a long history, but as you can see from the transits to the chart below, accurate.
On Saturday, two bombs ripped apart a peace demonstration in Ankara, the Turkish capital, killing more than 90 people and hospitalising dozens. This was the biggest terrorist attack in modern Turkish history. You can read more about it here.
Who is responsible? Some say the government of Tayyip Erdogan itself, the government lays the blame on the doorstep of ISIS. Turkey is hemmed in on all sides by chaos — Syria, Iraq, Russia, Ukraine — and host to millions of refugees right now: the situation is dangerous, but certain elements thrive on instability.
Still, look at the chart. It tells us that Chiron, the wound, has been ripped open. By transit Chiron Rx is on the MC, Uranus is on Turkey’s natal Chiron. These are reasonably slow transits, so they’ve been lurking around for a while. But look the fast-moving Moon is opposite tr Chiron on the MC exactly at the moment of the first blast. Over the next two days, the Moon will move through Virgo towards a New Moon (conjunct the Sun) at 18° Libra, opposite the natal Chiron.
Mars, the planet of violence, is exactly on Turkey’s North Node. This attack marks a turning point for the country. Jupiter makes this a big one. The opposition to Neptune tells us something about the lack of clarity about who is really responsible.
Turkey has come under enormous pressure during the Uranus-Pluto square, and Pluto, the dark lord, is still in the house of open enemies for a long time and opposing the natal Pluto.
