Dissolution
It was just that, until quite recently, for a few brief decades, in some parts of the world, we were able to carry on our little lives, listening to Daft Punk, making babies, sipping tea, scrolling through videos of foxes and grannies, planting carrots, dreaming, creating and generally trying to harm as few people as possible and have a nice time. We have been living in the free world.
Unfortunately, some gamers don’t seem to like the free world we live in: not the people, not the planet, not the culture. The free world wasn’t perfect, but was it so awful?
It’s ironic that the people who appear to be most distressed by the world we live in have the most privilege, the most money, the most status, the most liberty.
This January, as shadowy Pluto and the powerful Sun conjoined at 0° Aquarius, three ideologies converged in Washington DC to create a sickening neo-fascist cocktail. Techbro neo-reactionaries, Project 2025 conservatives and crooked Russian shills came together to wreck the United States and the West.
Their motivations are different but, crucially, some of their goals align nicely: putting women back in their boxes, lining their pockets — and just having power. The method is to break the institutions that have kept both international order and the United States going for the past 70 years, and in some cases for the last 250 years, — from NATO to the National Parks Service to the Constitution to the dollar to the European Union.
In case, you haven’t noticed: there’s a plan. Destroy Europe, destroy the dollar, destroy the entire US government, destroy international law, and in fact all law. Along the way, cruelly, viciously, destroy lives. Remember, we Non-Player Characters are worthless to serious gamers.
Whether or not they succeed is down to us NPCs though. We need to get back in the game.
In Europe, the answer is clear — NATO is over, and unless we want to end up like Aleppo or Donbas, we need our leaders to stand up to Russia and its new ally, the current US administration. Europe has been betrayed — ironic that it should have been in the same city as another famous betrayal. As I write this, President Volodymr Zelenskyy of Ukraine, an actual real life hero, has dared to speak the truth: Donald Trump is spouting Russian lies.
In the US, it’s harder. Everyone can see what’s happening, but what are the levers to stop it?
States and courts will be able to halt some of the rolling catastrophe, but with the fallout from millions of jobs lost, medical and social programs slashed, the dollar undermined and faith in the system destroyed, it will be hard to stay on your feet. If the government itself does not respect the law, then the law becomes useless.
Clearly, a patriotic Congress must act to remove the president, but then, in the US system, he would be replaced by JD Vance, who is rotten to the very core of his soul. All of them have to go.
Who could imagine, though, that there would ever need to be a mechanism for getting rid of an administration that is destroying the very country it was elected to protect and serve?
I’m not sure of how one could practically arrange the removal of Agent Orange and his henchman. But I am sure that it’s time to stop pretending that it’s just a matter of waiting four years. Law has to be reasserted quickly. Kamala was right: “We are not going back.” Just not quite in the way she thought.
But we, that is America and the whole world, will need to figure out a brand new way forward. The old world order is over.
Right — enough of that, I hear you mutter, what about the astrology?
Previously, I have written about how this year resembles 1533 astrologically, and what that might imply, including the fact that this is going to be an extremely historically consequential year.
But let’s think about what the astrology of this particular season is telling us.
First of all: all the outer planets are in direct motion now, and four out of five are heading towards the exit of their respective signs. They are moving fast.
Starting from the outermost planets (not including the newer ones).
–- Pluto is now fully in Aquarius, although only at 2°. America had its Pluto Return a few years ago now, in the midst of the Biden presidency. It seemed clear that the regime coming in would be revolutionary, or even a breath of fresh air. We discussed this in the Salon a few months ago. If Harris had been elected, the symbolism of Pluto would have had a healing effect for the US. A beautiful, clever black woman would have represented Pluto in Aquarius effectively. And as the descendant of enslaved people, Harris’ election might finally have healed America’s original sin. Oh well.
Instead, we are getting the destructive side of Pluto, razing systems (Aquarius) to the ground. The tech bros (Aquarius again) and criminal elements behind the Sun 🍊 on inauguration day are all too evident now. This echoes the French Revolution, which saw this same transit.
Also, Aquarius is an air sign and as I mentioned last year when this transit started, we were likely to see more deaths in the air, or from the air.
–– We have Neptune at the very end of Pisces — the planet of dissolution in the place of dissolution. And that is literally what we are seeing, the dissolving of the free world order as we have known it. This same transit was happening just before the American Civil War, as arguments raged in Congress.
Neptune will be changing sign on 30 March, moving into Aries, the sign of fresh starts. Unfortunately that was when the Civil War started, but if you look at it a different way, it was also when the slaves were freed and in Russia, on the other side of the world, the serfs were also freed — which is very significant. So I’d rather see it as a transit of liberation, a dissolving of bondage and beginning of personal freedom.
However, Neptune in Pisces feels very veiled, obscuring, and it may be that when Neptune changes signs we suddenly see what was really going on behind the scenes for years.
–- Uranus, the planet of revolution, is in earthy Taurus, preparing to change signs in the summer, when it will go into Gemini. The last time it was in this position was during WW2 — when many things were broken but many inventions were made in response to the war. Uranus and Jupiter both turned direct within a week of each other at the end of January/beginning of February, like a massive on-switch as the smashing up began.
–- Saturn is heading towards the door behind Neptune. And like Neptune is also in dissolving Pisces. But for Saturn this is more like an acid bath — walls, structures, institutions are being dissolved. Last time Saturn was here was in 1996.
— Jupiter is running through Gemini like he’s on fire. That’s the lord of magnification in the sign of information — and disinformation. He’ll be there until June. About a month after he leaves though, Uranus will arrive in Gemini, turning everything upside down.
—Chiron! The United States is having a Chiron Return. The final hit was on 18 February. This can be a painful transit or a kind of coming of age in some respect. It usually takes about a year. This began for the US last April. In a person’s chart, this often an arrival to a new adult stage of life at around the age of 50. For women it often coincides with menopause. So the US has had a Chiron Return several times before — 1973-1975, 1923-25, and so back every 50-odd years. Still it’s a significant new chapter.
–– We are still in the midst of a Mars retrograde (a once every two years event) which began in the first week of December on the North Node of the US chart. For Americans this really has been an attack on their own soil or a period of massive self-harm, especially since January when Mars went back into Cancer, the US Sun sign. Mars will turn direct on 24 February, and doubtless there will be more breakage. As I write, Mars is stationing at 17° Cancer, where he will stay until 8/9 March.
––Venus and Mercury are both preparing to turn retrograde in March. And I think this is important. They retrograde in Aries and then Pisces, backing into Saturn and Neptune, crossing the critical point of 0°/29°, getting ready for the new world to come.
Here’s one good thing: 🍊 and his treasonous gang have galvanised the West, waking us up to two critical notions: how lucky we are to be free, and how fragile that freedom is.
Venus retrograde asks us to consider our deeply held values, our sense of what is worthwhile, both personally and directly as she goes through Aries, and collectively when she reaches Pisces. Mercury retrograde asks us to think again about first principles. What kind of world are we willing to fight for? Do you really want to live in a place where creatures like Andrew Tate are lauded and women are refused life-saving medical care? Where little girls will take their own lives for fear of being deported? Where an entire people can be ordered out of their homeland? Where brave men are mocked and bullies are praised? Where there is no truth?
This spring we will all be reconsidering our positions, examining or consciences to find out who we are. Who are the patriots? If you love your country, the land, the people, the culture, what are you going to do to defend it? If you love the planet and humanity itself, how can you protect her and us?
There is a threat of more violence, and that has to be a consideration too. 0° Aries — where so many planets are taking an interest is not a passive place, but it can mark a fresh start. Remember that Neptune crosses this point at the end of March, then Saturn at the end of May. As these two great powers ally we may see the start of a new chapter But don’t let’s allow this new beginning to be the Fourth Reich.
There is much more to say, but finally, I want to mention the eclipse on 14 March. It’s very tense. Take care of yourselves, my friends, and do what you can.

I think many of us have been silenced for years.And Trump is a convenient foil -held up as a shield and distraction- that hides and conceals many levels of corruption,graft,transfers of wealth and adds and brings dispair and decay to many peoples lives.

Thanks for this insightful piece. I read Naomi Klein’s “Shock Doctrine” and it jibed with what I sensed was coming, intuitively, historically and as a channel/astrologer for over 50 years. Panic not, clear eyes (on the prize). Parents survived a year of the Blitz, I survived an unpredictable psycopathic alcoholic. Fear is disabling and a sociopath loves to inflict fear. I see a shakedown and a “take out” event. Stay cool and act local via your channels. We are being tested. We will come through. I listen to what Trump actually says from his mouth and from his tweets. He is direct and clear, and always has been. He says exactly what he is going to do, what his allegiances are. His actions have also been very clear for years.
I judge Musk by his actions. If you think what he has done in the past four weeks is beneficial to Americans, that is your call.
If you think that astrology is about there being only one outcome, I completely disagree.
Its very clear that Trump is acting like a Russian asset. He came into office on the wave of hatred for immigrants-a tragic irony in a country built by immigrants. Elon Musk is a white supremacist who uses code words like DEI to justify replacing minorities and women in places like the FAA. Its as if the Fourth Reich is being set up. The UK and Europe must now unite around the NATO mission, build up strong armies and then cut off the USA. Make the Euro strong. We have 500 million people and we have 26 armies if we include Canada.

The world is changing in front of our eyes. And I do not understand how some people can admire and welcome a president who is trying to “negotiate” a pace talks between Ukraine and Russia with no one from Ukraine officialls being there. How this president can ignore the fact that Russia invaded Ukraine and now he is not even allowing anyone to say that it did happen? How this president who is on the side of Putin can call the president if Ukraine a dictator, but ignoring what is going on in Russia?
Can we ignore the fact that Russia now have not only China ( not mensioning some other countries too) , but even the country who previously was bigest military suporter to Ukraine joining the Russian side?
Can we ignore what is happening in New York city and so on?
Sure, politisions in UK have not been and are not perfect and I understand that some times it is the case that law is not protecting who it should protect. The right big reforms should take place and we all have our own ideas what they should be and how it should be done, but anarchy and dictatorship should not be an aswer or be welcomed in society. What ever laws should be changed, they should be changed to benefit the wast majority of people and thouse who are the moust wounrable and not to exploit theire weakness or the unfortunat situation they are in and that goes for every country. What’s happening now with one big countries president swithching sides is going to affect the world on much bigger scale that I do not think we can even comprahend or imagen with no point of return.
Look at Russia- it has a lot of natural resources and in reality that way is very rich country, but moust people there are very poor + do not have even the basic human rights or freedom of speach. I’m not saying Russia is the only one, but right now it just got an other powerfull ally who does not care about what’s right and what’s wrong as long as they can force the Ukraine to singne under the contract that would not only sell out it’s resources and be in debt for generations to come, but also will force them to be controled and under Russia withought any possibility to get their freedom back and help from Nato or theire people to loose any basic human rights in and freedom of speach the future.
