A Magical Week & More

Sunday April 6th 2025

In the midst of this crazy month, there’s a magical week (well a little longer in fact) when a beautiful cosmic pattern forms in the sky, as Venus, now the Morning Star, turns direct on 13 April, and Mercury turns direct on 7 April. This pattern, an isosceles triangle connecting the signs Pisces, Taurus and Cancer, is dynamic, practical, harmonious and emotionally balanced. Tune into it for the perfect counter to some of the other mayhem.

Look to your friends and colleagues who have energy in those signs for support and inspiration. This is a mainly watery pattern, but it’s all pointing at that Uranus in Taurus, so there’s something revolutionary going on. Uranus is all about turning the world upside down, an awakening.

We have seen already that there’s a negative side to that. Taurus is one of the money signs, and Venus is still retrograde. So we see a sudden massive devaluation in the global economy thanks to “liberation day”. Liberation is another word associated with Uranus, the unshackling of chains.

However, there is a positive side to this energy too. I am looking at American rising up to defend democracy across every state. Who knows where this will lead globally. Maybe there is a general unshackling from the dollar, or from some of the myths of the past. Personally this can be about freedom too, perhaps the freedom to go your own way, to say what you really think, to radically review your own values.

With this particular pattern, all three qualities — fixed Taurus, mutable Pisces, and cardinal Cancer — are working together. There is a lot of energy in this pattern too, because of both Mercury and Venus stationing and then turning direct. This is a hinge moment, a pivot, a change.

This pattern holds, more or less, until Mars leaves Cancer on April 18.

  1. I like the hint of hope in this essay! Helps to find something to be grateful for in the midst of everyday awfulness here in the US.
